Grandparents and Down syndrome

The North Carolina Down Syndrome Alliance recognizes that a diagnosis of Down syndrome touches on the many family members outside the immediate family. Our friends at the Down Syndrome Association of Central California have created “A Grandparent’s Guide“. This guides provides valuable information about Down syndrome to better prepare grandparents to have a supportive role in their grandchild’s life.

Locally held grandparent social/support meetings are held periodically throughout the year in different communities. Contact the NCDSA if you are interested in connecting with other grandparents.
