The North Carolina Down Syndrome Alliance is committed to helping our staff and their families, our community groups, partners, and the Down syndrome community to stay healthy by doing what we can to prevent the spread of the coronavirus, COVID-19. To help mitigate the impact of this evolving public health issue, NCDSA’s physical offices will be closed until further notice. NCDSA staff will be working remotely to serve children and adults with Down syndrome in North Carolina and available 9am-5pm EST by phone, email, and virtual meetings. Mom’s & Dad’s Night Out

Moms & Dads Night Out

Moms Night Out is a program designed especially for moms of individuals with Down syndrome.

The program meets at alternating restaurants in different communities each month. These nights out allow participants respite time,
face to face interaction, networking opportunities, and an evening out with other moms that share a similar journey. The NCDSA hosts several events each month. Check our Calendar for events in your area! If you would like your area to host a Moms Night Out please send an email to info@ncdsa.org.

Dads Night Out is a program specifically designed for dads of individuals with Down syndrome.

These nights out allow participants respite time, face to face interaction, networking opportunities, and an evening out with other dads that share a similar journey. Triangle Buddy Walk

The Triangle Buddy Walk is NCDSA’s signature event, in which more than 1,600 people participate each year. The event is hosted in the fall and is celebrated around the world — each city having its own flair.

Eastern NC Buddy Walk

Estimated to have more than 1,500 people participate this year. The Eastern NC Buddy Walk is hosted in the spring and is celebrated around the world — each city having its own flair.

Experience a night like no other! Wear your favorite Mardi Gras attire and join us for our Karaoke Star Search Competition, dinner, and dancing; all while raising funds for NCDSA’s programs. Come prepared to sing or donate to hear your friend, colleague, or table sing. The goal is to raise $60,000 to fund the Educational and Empowerment programs.

Conference

The North Carolina Down Syndrome Conference is designed to cover the lifespan of an individual with Down syndrome and be a valuable resource serving all audiences.

Advocacy Day

The North Carolina Down Syndrome community comes together annually for Down Syndrome Advocacy Day at the North Carolina General Assembly in Raleigh.

WDSD

Each year the NCSDA celebrates World Down Syndrome Day by hosting a reception at the Governor’s Mansion.
