UNC Down Syndrome Clinic
NCDSA is thrilled to partner with the University of North Carolina (UNC) Health to bring you the UNC Down Syndrome Program! This comprehensive program unites top-tier expertise and offers specialized medical care for individuals with Down syndrome to enhance their health and well-being. The clinic’s medical director, Dr. Kate Westmoreland, is a UNC pediatrician and the mother of a young daughter with Down syndrome.
At NCDSA, we recognize the critical importance of comprehensive and expert medical care for individuals with Down syndrome. Through the support of generous donors, NCDSA funds the UNC Down Syndrome Program Nurse Clinic Coordinator position to support the clinic’s success. The Nurse Clinic Coordinator plays a pivotal role in both clinic operations and providing resources, information, and support for families.
NCDSA would especially like to thank our generous donors and the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Winston-Salem for helping us fund the Nurse Clinic Coordinator position!
- This program will serve both children and adults.
- The clinic is not intended to replace a patient’s Primary Care Provider.
- It is a multidisciplinary clinic that patients will visit as needed for coordinated specialty care.
- The clinic and NCDSA will help support Primary Care Providers through resources, literature, trainings, and more.
